  6. house. His dad helped him when he grew a 
  7. little older: He would pack the front hallway of 
  8. their house with snow so Mario and his two 
  9. brothers could practice skating indoors!

  11. By the time Mario was old enough to play in 
  12. the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, he 
  13. had become a local legend. He played three 
  14. seasons for the Laval Voisins [vwa-zan] 
  15. team, where his three-season point total 
  16. was the highest in league history.

  18. The Pittsburgh Penguins chose Mario 
  19. with the first pick of the 1984 NHL draft. 
  20.
